ANPA houses the products of the Native press and materials related to Native press history, the works of Native writers, bibliographic guides to Native writing and publishing, digital editions of writers' works, as well as original research on topics of importance to Indian communities. It stands today as one of the world’s largest repositories of Native thought.
Ottenheimer Library is an official depository for United States, State of Arkansas, and European Union documents. The federal collection is a partial depository, receiving about 32% of the material available. The Arkansas and European Union collections are full depositories, receiving 100% percent of the materials distributed.
The Media collection, on the 5th floor of the Ottenheimer Library, houses a wide variety of non-print materials including Microfiche, Microfilm, Ultrafiche, Audiocassettes, Compact Disc, Videotapes, Filmstrips, LP/Album, Videocassette, and DVD. Some of the materials available are:
- back issues of magazines, newspapers, journals, as well as ERIC documents and Government documents, and the Libraries of American Civilization
- Audio books
- American Sign Language Interpreting Program videotapes
- Black Culture audiocassettes
- White House audiocassettes
- Theater tapes for studying accents and dialects
- Off-Campus Credit and Lifelong Learning videotapes of academic coursework
- A wide variety of sound recordings ranging from Classical and Blues to Gospel and Showtunes.
- A wide variety of video recordings including documentaries, movies, instructional videos, and docudramas.
The Presidential Studies Reading Area in UALR's Ottenheimer Library houses a variety of reference books, videos, and other materials, including a collection of campaign and political memorabilia on display.
The IEA Research Library, on the 4th floor of the Reynolds building, is a non-lending collection with the primary purpose of serving the information needs of IEA researchers, UALR faculty, students, state agencies, the business community as well as the general public. The library contains information in specialized areas such as agriculture, banking, census data, economics, education, finance, government, health, industry, labor, management and taxation. The library specializes in information pertaining to Arkansas and particularly to statistical data series. It also serves as a depository for the Arkansas State Data Center and the U.S. Census Bureau and their printed census materials.
The ASBDC Resource Center is also a non-lending collection of materials specializing in small business development and serves the information needs of entrepreneurial and small business development clients throughout Arkansas.
The Law Library is located at the UALR School of Law, 1203 McMath Avenue, Little Rock, AR 72202. The UALR Law Library is unique in that it is combined with the Pulaski County Law Library. Its mission is to serve both the students, faculty, and staff of the William H. Bowen School of Law at the Univerisity of Arkansas at Little Rock and the law community of Pulaski County, Arkansas.
Visual Resources - UALR Art Department
The Art Department's Visual Resources Colletion, located in room 202 of the Fine Arts building, houses a collection of slides, books, periodicals, videotapes, and DVDs. The collection is primarily a research, study, and teaching resource providing materials for the Art Department's studio art and art history curriculum. The collection is available to the art faculty and students. Access is granted on a limited basis to users from other disciplines on campus as well as the general public.
