Ottenheimer Library Development Board
Student Worker Award

The Ottenheimer Library Development Board Student Worker Award Committee is pleased to announce that applications are now being accepted for the Library Development Board Student Worker Award. The purpose of this award is the provision of actual library work experience for students at UALR who wish to explore careers as professional librarians.

Preference will be given to undergraduates. Prospective candidates must have a grade point average of 3.0 or above on a 4.0 scale and an interest in working in a library environment. The award is not an outright scholarship; the purpose is to reward a student working in the library with a substantially higher salary than the average for student workers. The winner must work a minimum of 10 to 15 hours per week at the Library. The award is for the fall 2009 – spring 2010 academic year. The winner must attend a fall ceremony to accept the award from the Ottenheimer Library Development Board.

To apply, please send (e-mail or U.S. mail) all of the following:

  1. A letter of application including a brief explanation of experiences or interests in the field of library and information science.

  2. A copy of academic transcript(s)

  3. Three letters of recommendation

These materials should be sent to:
